Pilates is a form of exercise that targets the deep postural muscles of the abdomen, glutes and spine to improve overall strength, control and stability. Though similar to yoga, Pilates concentrates on posture, balance and flexibility. Its aim is also to focus on the mind-body connection, making you more aware of your breathing and the way your body moves.
Basically, clinical Pilates is patient specific. Because it is a 1:1 session, all sessions are tailored to meet the needs of the individual regardless of injury, ability, previous knowledge or age.

Growing up in a household with a nurse for a mum, and family members with complex medical issues, I’ve always had a passion to help people. In 2007 I graduated with a BSc in Sports Rehabilitation, and two years later started working for the RAF as an Exercise Rehabilitation Instructor, working to fix injured personnel. Working for the military has seen me enjoy the company of a lot of people I wouldn’t have normally come in contact with, and moving to work around the country & Germany.
As a therapist we never know everything, so I am always working to expand my knowledge base on a variety of health and fitness related topics, including up-skilling my sports massage to include neuromuscular techniques, becoming a Pilates instructor & a Women’s fitness specialist.
Since 2017, when I made the decision to better help people with injuries in my local community, I’ve been working at a local gym as a personal trainer, sports masseur & sports rehabilitator.
When I get a few minutes to myself, I’m an avid film watcher, architectural photographer & love travelling to new places, overseas.
